Chicago’s Gold Coast didn’t necessarily get its name from the gorgeous weather like California (though summers by Oak Street Beach are positively rich). Instead, the neighborhood’s name comes from the wealth of the Chicago residents who first settled there. The Gold Coast is a luxury lover’s haven. Charming homes on picture-perfect streets, high-end boutiques, and restaurants favored by celebrities past and present all give this neighborhood its star power.This neighborhood is bordered by North Avenue, Lake Shore Drive, Oak Street, and Clark Street. There are great views of the Lake Michigan shoreline, and the famous Chicago skyline.
